Aside from some gastrointestinal fireworks, it's been a good day. I found my perfect faux fur, received a much-needed check, splurged on two Thievery Corporation CDs and saw Garden State.

On the way home there was also...

A shooting star,
a chocolate pig,
and Joe Frank on the radio.

All good omens.

I'm going insane prepping for Burning Man. There's never enough stuff and I can't think of a single thing I'd really like to eat when stuck in the middle of the desert. Must work on that. And must figure out if borrowing an RV is worth all the grown-up responsibility it requires. Hrm.

Must sleep and dream of packing lists, silly costumes, and rehydrated food.

Garden State was, hrm, okay. Actually, it was a good flick with a few problems that probably have more to do with the fact that it was a freshman effort (i.e. some heavyhandedness, some of the dialogue seemed forced, the soundtrack seemed more foisted rather than a natural outgrowth of the movie, and as always the ending was tres deus ex machina) and the fact that I had SIX months to build it into something that it wasn't. Overall, I liked it, but it wasn't all that I had hoped. It's also quite different than the previews would suggest--much funnier, less profound, and I didn't cry nearly as much as I'd hoped.
*shugs*

As for the big BM, as I am want to call it, I'm sure I'll have all kinds of fun once I actually get out there. It's the heart attack of preparation that I have to survive. Oy. Wish me luck and have a lovely time yourself.
