I really am in hell
Jul. 17th, 2003 11:17 amFORECAST: Expected high for today--106 freakin' degrees!!!!!!!
Oh holy god, it's going to be a hot one today. This only confirms my belief that it is best to sell out, move to SF, and make a bajillion dollars doing something dastardly. I wonder if there's any openings at Evildoers Inc. Hrm. I may have to sell my soul to the corporate bad guys, but it would be an even 70 degrees all year round. It's something to consider.
Too hot.
And my desk is super messy and I have a TON of work to do. Egad.
But I was such a good kid today. I went to the DMV this morning and did the title transfer, called the Honda guy to fix my door lock, talked to the girl who wants to buy my car, paid my bills, ate a healthy breakfast and generally rocked all around. And it's only 11am. Whoo hoo! I LOVE my antidepressants. Granted, they make me a little edgy/speedy and sleepless when I start them, but boy howdy, do I get things done.
I saw Pirates of the Caribbean last night and it was AWESOME in that summer blockbuster sort of way. Johnny Depp did a great job as an androgynous pirate captain and there are plenty of piquant pirate lines to pick up and pepper your vocabulary with. I plan on saying, "Ay, Sea turtles" every day for the rest of the summer. That's a promise.
This weekend will be hectic. D's parents are down for the next two weekends. Since I'm working or out of town for a bridal shower, I won't meet them or see D this weekend. I'm not mourning that fact--it will be nice to have a break from male company. I'm looking forward to gabbing with my girl friends and taking a little spa time in the city.
The bridal shower is for my friend Alayna who's a lawyer in SF. I bought her 25 bags of her favorite German gummis for her bridal shower. It's not a traditional gift, but I know that she and her betrothed love these hard-to-find candies and well, it beats something generic from Macy's. I never know what to get people for their bridal showers anyways. I'm looking forward to the shower despite the ominous warning that there will be lots of "silly stupid shower games"--it's an excuse to go to the city, to see old friends, and to hit Ocento <http://www.osento.com/>.
I can't wait.
On other fronts, I feel like a bit of an ass. Guilty because I should feel bad about something rotten that I'm doing, but I don't. I can't admit what it is that I'm doing, at least not on these pages, but it's rotten (although not illegal) and against my better judgment. However, it's something that I need to do given a crunched time frame and a lack of personal velocity. Oy.
Other than that, sipping my new energy drink (FUZE Omega Energy-Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!) for no good reason and trying to get a bit of work done.
Hope you are well.
PS GREAT new music magazine called Paste
