Oh holy goodness, I am so intoxicated it's not even funny. My alcohol tolerance is really failing me in my old age.

I went to a giant Halloween Party with old friends tonight. For lack of a stronger adjective, it was "nice." Lots of people I haven't seen in years who are quitely pursuing their lives. I sort of appreciate the lack of ceremony. They go on their merry way, being doctors, lawyers, researchers, etc. without elevating it to goddamn. It was lovely.

I also went and visited my brother, sister-in-law and nieces and nephews this afternoon. Everyone is very cute and small. I took Oprah's cheesy advice and stopped looking for acceptance or validation from my family and actually had a pleasant time. It was good. There are baby pics that I was able to take, but I doubt that those will ever make it to those pages. My sister-in-law took my picture to out in the kids' picture book under "L"--it was sort of sad to know that my presence was so scarce that it warranted a photo appearance, but then again, that's life. *shrugs*

I need to drink more water and dream of a productive Sunday where everything gets done and no moment is wasted with dehydration or regret. :)

Hope you all had a great weekend.

What did I do to you?

Ouch.

But only after lots of water, sleep, and over-the-counter pain pills.

Ouch.

Water really seems to be the magic maker in these things. I had three cocktails last night. THREE. I don't think that even qualifies as legitimate binge drinking, but I was legitimately hungover this morning. I normally drink 2-3 liters of water a day, and yesterday I had half of that which is what ultimately doomed me. I think my normal healthy habits slammed into one night of drinking and lost. Boo.

The party itself was all sorts of fun. Khanh and Elizabeth are fantastic hosts who put A LOT of work into entertaining. In addition to the full bar and tables groaning with homemade food, there were at least 20 carved pumpkins, a haunted house, a trampoline, an outdoor fire pit, a rather elaborate karoke system, and total enforcement of "costume" aspect of the costume party.

The hosts dressed as Hugh Hefner and his bunnies--Elizabeth made a great Hugh and Khanh and Kevin made some pretty disturbing bunnies (all bunny, all the time, right down to the underwear *shudder*). Khanh really likes to show off his ass at any given opportunity, and last night was no different. And believe it or not, people came from all over the state to attend the party and to inevitably see Khanh's ass. *boggle*

I went as a Devil. There was lots of dancing and way too much karoke (I would have to say that any karoke is way too much). I saw old friends that I really like and rarely get to see and managed to navigate the evening in four inch heels without a single injury. All in all, save for the hangover, it was a rousing success. I'm kicking myself for forgetting my camera. *sigh*

This week my sister and mother are visiting and I'm still looking down the barrel of a 60 hour work week. * double sigh*
