Halloween Party
Oct. 30th, 2005 02:05 amOh holy goodness, I am so intoxicated it's not even funny. My alcohol tolerance is really failing me in my old age.
I went to a giant Halloween Party with old friends tonight. For lack of a stronger adjective, it was "nice." Lots of people I haven't seen in years who are quitely pursuing their lives. I sort of appreciate the lack of ceremony. They go on their merry way, being doctors, lawyers, researchers, etc. without elevating it to goddamn. It was lovely.
I also went and visited my brother, sister-in-law and nieces and nephews this afternoon. Everyone is very cute and small. I took Oprah's cheesy advice and stopped looking for acceptance or validation from my family and actually had a pleasant time. It was good. There are baby pics that I was able to take, but I doubt that those will ever make it to those pages. My sister-in-law took my picture to out in the kids' picture book under "L"--it was sort of sad to know that my presence was so scarce that it warranted a photo appearance, but then again, that's life. *shrugs*
I need to drink more water and dream of a productive Sunday where everything gets done and no moment is wasted with dehydration or regret. :)
Hope you all had a great weekend.
