Oh god, Hunter S. Thompson killed himself.
By the length of the story, it's clear they've had his obit ready for years.
I never really liked his stuff (I found Fear and Loathing absolutely incomprehensible and heard nightmare stories about his nephew having to piece together his columns at the Examiner) but I appreciated the fact that there was someone out there doing what he did.
It's a sad day.
