Back from Burning Man
Sep. 6th, 2004 10:37 pmWow.
I just returned from a week of sharing and community. A place where all you had to do was ask and you had the help of a thousand hands. A place completely removed from the outside world...no telephones, no news, no internet. Nothing but thirty-five thousand people, a huge expanse of desert, and a common purpose.
It was encouraging. Liberating. Perhaps even evidence of a better world.
And then I returned home and started watching the evening news and I can't believe what's gone on in my absence. It's heartbreaking. I wish I could say more, but I'm speechless at the contrast.
Wow.
I'm back. We lived. We thrived. It was good.
I'll write more as time and energy permits.
