I claim this in the name of Germany.
I just got back from Eric's BBQ and had a lovely, lovely time.
Olivia braided my hair into two Leia (a la Princess) buns while dry humping my leg. Yeah.
I look and feel very German. I could give birth, bake a strudel/sausage dinner, and build a Volkswagon in a hot German minute. Eric concurred and grabbed a miniature flag of Germany (history grad student--of course he had one laying about) and staked it into one of my buns, claiming the territory for the Fatherland. There's a photo of it floating around on the picture phone network.
There was also lots of tangoing and salsa dancing. And kooky grad students and their wacky subjects. And references to naughtiness in office hours. And porn. Lots of talk about porn, but that was my contribution. ;) It was a terribly high brow affair overall.
And I got to hang out with Katherine and Amy! Good times. Lovely people.
