My mother
2. What is the first thing you buy for yourself?
I pay off my credit card bills and student loans and then I buy a plane ticket to Italy.
3. What is the first thing you buy for someone else?
I'd pay off my parent's new house and then put a chunk of cash away for my sisters' college educations.
4. Do you give any away? If yes, to whom?
Honestly, if it was only a million dollars, the bounty probably wouldn't be shared beyond the family. However, if it were a lot more I'd contribute all kinds of cash to Planned Parenthood and The School of the Americas Watch, among others.
5. Do you invest any? If so, how?
Nope, save for a retirement fund that I was forced to contribute to when I worked at the university (no matching funds from them, thank you very much), I haven't invested. In this market, it's probably a good thing.
