Weight Watchers Post
Jan. 27th, 2004 11:38 pmI so don't understand the way the body works.
Two weeks ago I went off program for one day and I gained 0 .8 lbs
Last week I went off program completely and I gained....0.8 lbs.
WTF?
I'll chalk it all up to very mysterious ways. I'm just happy that I didn't gain more.
I'm trying to treat the last two weeks as learning experiences.
Here's what I learned...
Eating out=bad.
Cooking and going crazy with the Tupperware=good.
Water is your friend.
Although it's a tortured relationship, Diet Coke and black coffee are also good friends.
It's good to go to WW even when you've gained. It's all about facing up to your failures.
It's good to reward yourself when you've done well.
It's even better to selectively reward yourself when you fail.
This last lesson is probably the best one I've learned. Over the past two weeks I've realized that I SUCK at eyeballing portions. I've also gained a pound and a half. Instead of forgoing my non-food reward because of my gain, I bought myself something that will help me with my portion estimates. Last week I bought a food scale and this week I purchased new measuring cups and spoons.
If I lose next week, the rewards will get decidedly sexier, if I don't, I'll be shelling out for more dieting tools. Either way, I win.
So, here's to a new week! I'm forgiving myself, learning my lessons, and am moving on.
