Alright, here's the official damage from yesterday...

The Damage )

I'm still full and the indigestion this morning was absolute misery. Was my little binge worth it? Not hardly. I'll need to remember this the next time the I attack a buffet table. Argh.

Beauty Recipe.

Last night at the party we made a Sugar Scrub. Torreya kept saying, "Gah, this is so straight." (No doubt a response to all the nights I've declared our activities "So gay"). We were all feeling a bit WASPy and Tupperware-Partyish, but it was ultimately worth it. I was able to enjoy the fruits of our labor this morning and it worked so well, I thought that I would share.

We made a HUGE batch that was split among 8 people. Don't concentrate on how much of the ingredients were used, but rather the proportions...

HOMEMADE SUGAR SCRUB

1 and 1/2 pounds Turbinado Sugar
(bought in bulk, it's the course-cut unrefined sugar that's usually brown)
3 pounds Unrefined (Less refined) Sugar
(it's closer to regular sugar)
1 bottle Almond Oil (something around 16 oz.--avoid Bitter Almond Oil as it's scented)
1 bottle Grapeseed Oil (again, something around 16oz)
4 oz Jojoba Oil (it's the most expensive part of this recipe...try to buy it from a bulk store as its cheaper)
Scented Essential Oils of your choice.

1. Combine the two types of sugar in a bowl and mix.
2. Slowly pour all of the Almond and Grapeseed Oil into your sugar mixture. Stir until thoroughly mixed.
3. Add in all of the Jojoba Oil. Again, stir until thoroughly mixed.
4. You should saturate the sugar mixture with the oils but you don't want to leave a lot leftover as a reserve.
4. Use essential oils to scent to your preference. Be careful to use scents that aren't irritating to the skin.

Store in an airtight container. Does not need to be refrigerated. Try not to keep on the shelf forever.

I made a Cedarwood/Sage Concoction. I used it as an exfoliating scrub and it worked wonderfully...not only do you get to rub away all the dead skin, the oils do a phenomenal job of moisturizing!

Enjoy!
