Day one back on program (I chose to wait for the New Year to start because I knew that starting on the 31st was a recipe for failure).

How it go? Pretty yay. I made the infamous vegetable soup. I drank all of my water, and ate all of my veggies and dairy. In these respects, I rock. But...I used 11 of my "flex points." Urgh, and that's not so rockin'.

But, I can attribute all of those flex points to one evil little chocolate muffin from Starbucks that I failed to look up the point value for before I ate it. Grrr. ELEVEN POINTS. I'm not sure that anything is that good but I've definitely got a memorable lesson for my Dieting--Live and Learn file.

I need to mention that I LOVE the concept of flex points and I'm thrilled that WW has adopted them into their program. A safety net for screw-ups...it's beautiful. Instead of failing today, I simply exercised my flex points. I don't feel like a failure. I don't feel like throwing in the towel. I don't feel like I should binge because I had an imperfect start. And that my friends is wonderful. Yay!!!

I'm happy happy girl.

Happy New Years Everyone!

Following [livejournal.com profile] lucidwhisper's lead, here's my accomplishment from last year:

It did not kill me.

And that is really all I can say about 2003.

Here's my resolution for 2004:

I will not engage or continue to engage in less than satisfying experiences.

This includes people, situations and things. I've spent so much of my life wondering and worrying how other people perceive me, often limiting my own expectations and happiness in deference to them. That's over. I'm looking out for me from now on.

Here's to a much better and brighter 2004!

Happy New Year!
