Blork.

If that were a word, that's how I would feel. I've been bingeing for weeks now and it's taking its toll--my jeans don't fit. I feel like Godzilla in Tokyo, except Tokyo is every fast food joint between my work and home.

*sighs*

Usually the out-of-control eating parallels similar out-of-control behaviors in my life, however, I'm just starting to get some of those things under control--the apartment, bills, my love life, etc. It's odd. Let's hope that the compulsion to stuff my face will subside as I get the rest of my things under wraps.

*crosses fingers*

In other worlds, I bought the book White Oleander today. First tier trashy fiction is like crack to me--I can't sleep, I can't work, and I simply cannot rest until I finish the book. This novel is having its expected effects and I'm doing everything I can to resist its siren song. I need to go to bed semi-early tonight so that I can wake up and go into the office to do all of the work that I shrugged off on Tuesday. Yick.

On an amusing note, I work in the town where the first MTV Sorority Life was filmed and I periodically see the girls who starred in the show. The only thing that's intriguing about them is that they're all really petite, every single one of them, and the fact that they used to show up at the local bar to watch and applaud the show as it aired. Anyways, I've often wondered if they're as bitchy as they were portrayed, but understandably there's never been a good moment to really explore that question. Ironically, I got an opportunity that I chose not to take, in the name of good taste. As I sat in the crowded waiting room for my emergency appointment with the OB/GYN, I noticed that the person sitting next to me was Amanda. We sat there for at least 40 minutes...that's some quality time to discuss the many character flaws that were emphasized in the show. Thankfully, I thought better of it, but alas, I think that might have been my final opportunity. *sighs* Oh well.

Another interesting side note..it turns out that none of those girls "really" rushed the sorority, nor were they chosen by the sisters--MTV scouted them and paid them a salary for being on the show. How about that?
